Protective Names in Tibetan Tradition

"Dolma" (སྒྲོལ་མ), the Tibetan name for Tara, is considered one of the most powerful protective names. An astrologer may determine that a child is particularly vulnerable to certain negative influences based on their birth chart and recommend a name that counters these influences.
